Caoimhe is heavily involved in Education and has been working on several projects this year.

Caoimhe founded The Writing Group for Normal People in association with Fighting Words and Dublin Castle. This has been running since 2015 and the students recently gave their second public reading in the Bedford Tower of Dublin Castle. The group meets fortnightly to share and critique each others’ writing and although the writers are young they are sure to be featured on bookshelves in the future. Members have enjoyed great success in publication and competitions this year and include the authors of Stand Strong Girls and Ask A Teenage Aspie.

Caoimhe also founded a Writing Group for adults in 2016. The Castle Coterie also meets in Dublin Castle, bringing together authors of various genres and backgrounds including the author of Wanderlost.

Caoimhe organized a talk entitled ASD: Myths and Legends, which aimed to help dispel myths associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Eight young people on the spectrum gave speeches on various aspects of the disorder including stories of their own diagnosis and how they have coped since. This was carried out in Dublin Castle with support from Aspire Ireland as well as Tadhg from Ask a Teenage Aspie who also designed the poster for the event. Caoimhe has run creative writing workshops as part of the Fighting Words team, where she interned and continues to volunteer, as well as her own creative writing workshops in Dublin Castle.

Caoimhe recently facilitated a workshop as part of an adult creative writing course taking place in Dublin City Libraries. This opportunity came as part of the Dublin in the Coming Times project.

Specialized workshops included Storygami – a combination of story telling and Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding. First, a creative writing workshop was run and stories or poems created. These were then re-written onto a square piece of origami paper which was folded into a model. These created unique pieces that may have expanded on the theme of the story but made the story impossible to read.

So, the question is, is this still the same story? Is it more? Or less?
